SANTA AND THE EASTER BUNNY
I hope everyone had a wonderful Christmas. Sadly, Santa Claus is gone for another year, but the Easter Bunny will be here soon. The Easter Bunny doesn’t really bring big toys like Santa does, but the Easter Bunny does make sure our Easter basket is loaded with candy and treats. Sometimes he even brings a stuffed bunny or chick or small toy. The Easter Bunny and Santa sure make our lives fun, and they both have many things in common.
The Easter Bunny has many bunny workers and, as we all know, Santa’s helpers are elves. They both have large shops where they make the gifts they bring the children. The Easter Bunny’s shop makes the tons and tons of candy that he will put in the baskets the children leave out for him and Santa’s large workshop is where all the toys that will go under the Christmas trees are made. Santa, the Easter Bunny, the toy-making elves and candy-making bunnies are indeed all very hard workers. I even heard a rumor that one year so many of the elves had colds and the toys weren’t getting made on time, so bunnies from the Easter Bunny’s shop went up to the North Pole to help out.
The toys that Santa carries are a lot bigger than candy so that is why he has to have a large sleigh. The Easter Bunny doesn’t need a sleigh because he carries all the candy he needs to in a large sack himself. One thing they both need, though, is they need to be very fast. Santa’s 8 reindeer are very, very fast and that helps him to be able to drive his sleigh around the world in one night. The Easter Bunny relies on his magical feet to very quickly hop from house to house filling the children’s baskets.
The biggest thing they have in common, though, is they both work very hard to make our holidays happy ones and the two of them do a great job at that. Many children leave Santa cookies and milk and many leave the Easter Bunny a carrot to say thank you for bringing such nice treats. Both holidays bring so much happiness for children. Tearing the pretty gift wrap off of the presents on Christmas and finding the basket filled with delicious candy on Easter are both so much fun.
There is one more day that is a big holiday. Can you guess what it is? If you said your birthday, you are right! Your birthday is your very own holiday. Everybody celebrates your birthday too. You get a lot of presents and a birthday cake too, just like Christmas and Easter rolled into one special day. Birthdays might even be a little more special than Christmas or Easter because it is a day for just you. You get all the attention for the whole day. You are like royalty. It is your day, no one else’s.
It is so nice to have special days during the year, but I hope you have fun and enjoy not just the special days, but each and every day. Still, it is exciting to look forward to Christmas, Easter and birthdays! And don’t forget Valentine’s Day and Halloween too! Hope all your days and holidays are the greatest!
